Class 1-A's Quirk Apprehension Test is an evaluation comprised of eight fitness tests held by Shota Aizawa on the very first day of school with Class 1-A.

Overview[]

With the ability to run his homeroom class however he desires, Shota Aizawa always evaluates the abilities of his students on their first day instead of going through a normal orientation. He has the students compete in eight physical tests using their Quirks to gauge their potential. Then he ranks their scores from best to worst.

Shota threatens to expel the student who comes in last place because they have no potential.[1] There are a few exceptions: According to All Might, Shota has expelled an entire class after being disappointed with their results. In Izuku Midoriya's case, even though Izuku came in last in Class 1-A's fitness tests, he was not expelled.[2]

Tests[]

50-Meter Dash[]

The students must run fifty meters straight while using their Quirks to improve their mobility. Their completion times are recorded. Known participants and results are as follows:

Competitor Quirk Time
Tenya Ida Engine 3.04 seconds[3]
Tsuyu Asui Frog 5.58 seconds[3]
Ochaco Uraraka Zero Gravity 7.15 seconds[3]
Mashirao Ojiro Tail 5.49 seconds[4]
Yuga Aoyama Navel Laser 5.51 seconds[3]
Mina Ashido Acid Unknown (Faster than Yuga Aoyama)[3]
Katsuki Bakugo Explosion 4.13 seconds[3]
Izuku Midoriya N/A 7.02 seconds[3]

Grip Strength[]

The students grasp a hand-held device that reads the force their grip exhibits in kilograms. Known participants and results are as follows:

Competitor Quirk Force
Mezo Shoji Dupli-Arms 540.0kg[3]
Izuku Midoriya N/A 56.0kg[3]

Standing Long Jump[]

The students use their Quirks to clear a sandbox designed for a standing long jump. Their distance is recorded. Known participants and results are as follows:

Competitor Quirk Distance
Katsuki Bakugo Explosion Cleared sandbox[3]
Yuga Aoyama Navel Laser Cleared sandbox[3]
Izuku Midoriya N/A Landed within sandbox[3]

Repeated Side Steps[]

The students move between three lines by sidestepping from one to the other. Only Minoru Mineta was shown to participate in this test. He used his Quirk to bounce himself quickly between the lines.[3]

Ball Throw[]

The students were required to throw a ball as far as they could using their Quirks. Izuku originally decided to use his Quirk through his whole arm, even though previous experience had shown it would have incapacitated him for the rest of the tests, which is why he hadn't used his Quirk in the tests before. He hoped to do well enough to bring himself out of what he knew to be last place so that the rest of the tests would not matter. His initial attempt failed, as Shota used his Erasure Quirk to shut off Izuku's Quirk. Shota warned that incapacitating himself for a Quirk that could only be used once was useless, and not a promising start for a hero career. Izuku took Shota's criticisms to heart, and when Shota released him, he instead only used his Quirk in the tip of his finger, giving the ball an extra boost, but not incapacitating him.

Competitor Quirk Distance
Katsuki Bakugo Explosion 705.2 meters[1]
Ochaco Uraraka Zero Gravity [3]
Izuku Midoriya One For All 705.3 meters[3]

Three Remaining Tests[]

The students also participated in a distance run, seated toe-touch, and sit ups. Participants and results were never revealed.
