Hello admin, I'm interested in adding quotes to characters' pages. If I may be asking, does this wiki have some sort of trusted manga translation to be officially used here? I'd not proceed if the Wiki doesn't need a proper quotes section though because I know there will be a ton of them.
I greatly appreciate being promoted to admin. At the same time, I want to be fair to all my fellow editors. I see the request rights page is in development. I want to know if you think I should re-apply officially once the page is finished.
Hey GamerTime, it's been a while! Recently got back into the series and would like the help out the wiki again. I've noticed the wiki is a few admins short compared to my last visit. So I was wondering if you would possibly consider me for bureaucrat or admin user rights. I believe I can help turn things around on the wiki.
Am just asking for content moderator (If this wiki has that) for only a week you can revoke it later, so I can get rid of those 230+ images in the Category:Candidates_for_deletion images that no admin wants to waste their time with. and plus Besty17 am pretty sure he aint gonna give you bureaucrat since he is the only bureaucrat and there is people like king cannon who basicaly do everything on this wiki and only have sysop.

I'm former bureaucrat (the reason my name is highlighted black), one of the first admins on the wiki and helped appoint all the current admins. I've got a lot of history with the wiki.
When you say others do everything, what are they actually doing? As you mentioned there's a lot of stuff to be deleted. I would be more than happy to be a sysop but i'm mainly asking bureaucrat because with the new anime season coming soon traffic is going increase and the wiki could with more editors such as yourself as admins. I think appointing 2 or 3 admins more will make a difference.
GamerTimeUS, by the way I got reduced those 230+ images in the Category:Candidates_for_deletion to only 10, I left those 10 images becuase they are bieng used in pages and there are no repacements for it.
For Izuku's image gallary there are only design/outfit images in the appearance section, unlike all other characters and main characters which have important pictures of all arcs and fights. What I am asking is, is this intended or simply because no one bothered to add those images, if so I could just do that.
I have been researching "manga" and "anime" but while I was researching these terms and the media of Japan, I have realized that manga and anime are not special terms. "Manga" is simply the Japanese word for "comic" and "anime" and an abbreviation for the word "animation". Even in media, for TVアニメ, usually the English words "TV Animation" will be brought up. As for manga, Japanese media like JUMP Comics tend to use the English word for comics but that's esentially what the word manga means. Even in My Hero Academia, Izuku says that if they were in a "comic" (use of the English word), Shota would be the main character. Yes, you do see "Anime" and "Manga" in Japanese titles and websites. That's because they're Japanese and don't have to use the English translation since the websites are for the Japanese media like AnimeJapan and s-manga.com. And sometimes they do use the kana for manga but it doesn't change the fact that manga means comic. On the HeroAca movie website, if you have look on the left, it says TV Animation and if you hover over it, it will say テレビアニメ. Sometimes, instead of アニメ you will see アニメーション in some media. The abbreviation for animation is no different than robo ロボ which is short in Japanese for robot or mecha メカ for mechanical.
I suggest that we change manga to comic on everything and anime to animation since these words are not special in their original language. To reiterate, manga is simply the Japanese word for comic and anime is the Japanese abbreviation for the English word animation. Since we would e changing pages as well, we could keep them manga and anime as redirects so it wouldn't be so hard for people who don't use those terms to still find the pages. I tried doing a forum discussion but no one contributed so I wanted to ask you directly.
Personally I think using the words "anime" and "manga" are fine. Most other wikis use these words as well. Dragonus is right though, we have a few problems here at present (excessive vandalism, incorrect info, etc) that need fixing before we think even think about doing something like this.
They’re fine but came from weaboos that first translated Japanese animation through fan translations. For some reason it was ingrained in localization but whatever. Doesn’t it’s correct. I have a perfect example of this but will wait after some problems have been fixed.
