  • This is about two unrelated things, one is Tsuyu's mother's name, and the other is the name of Tensei Iida's Quirk.

For the first one, shouldn't we have her name as Bell instead of "Beru"? It's glossed with katakana and the character used is the same one for "bell". It seems pretty that it's actually referring to the English name/word and so should be romanized as such.

For the second, should Tensei's Quirk really have it's own page? He just has engines but in his arms. Beside their placement there's nothing actually indicates they work differently. Couldn't we just get rid of the page, place his name on the Engine page as well, and make a note about the placement?

These aren't really big deals, but they caught my eye, and you seem like the person to ask about these sorts of things.

    • Okay, let's try again - This is like arguing that Naval laser would be the same Quirk if it ame out of Aoyama's hands - No it wouldn't be. Functionality is part of a Quirk.

What you're saying is that Skating and Sliding (Or Slide and Glide) are the same thing because they allow the user to slide. Which again, is not how it works.

We've known since not long after his debut that Tenya is capable of changing gears on his Quirk - allowing him to change how quickly he can move and utilize his Quirk. We've also been told that Tensei doesn't have this functionality.

In that context, what you're saying is if Bakugou had a sibling who could fire out explosions out of anywhere without the need for sweat, it's the same Quirk - No it isn't. That would be a completely different ability.

In reference to siblings and Quirks,  it's completely capable that two siblings can have vasty different Quirks as well as the same one. We know that children can inherit variations of a Quirk, and that's it's own Quirk in it's own right - If Izuku inherited his fathers fire abilities, but shot them out of his hand -That wou'dnt be Fire Breath. This is what is meant by variatiion. Mutation.

Every single thing about a Quirk is important - Unless it functions in the exact same way, it's not the same Quirk.

    • 1. Except, no I'm not. Aoyama's Quirk is specifically defined by firing the lazer out of his navel. Engine is not, it's just them having engines in their body. You're conflating a situation that isn't at all the same.

      2. No, I did not. I said they're using the same means (i.e. engines) to travel at high speeds. Again, the engines themselves are the defining point here. You're cofusing utility with strucutre. That they have to use the structures different due to placement does not change that they are fundamentally the same thing, engines in their bodies.

3 When we're told Tensai can't change gears? If that was mentioned Illegals that would be one thing but "not long after his introdcution" implies in the main story, of which I know there was no mention.

      4. Except again, I'm not saying that, because again, the sweating is defining feature of Bakugo's Quirk. It's the product of his parent's Quirks joining, Bakugo can't have siblings without sweating related abilities to begin with. Again, unlike with "Engine", the Quirk, which is defined by them having engines in their bodies.

      5. Yes, we konw that siblings Quirks can be different, we also know that they can be same. Again, your example with Izuku is missing the point, I am making. Fire Breath, obviously involves breathing and not shooting out of his hands. Engine has no such specification.

      6. Based on your reasoning, I don't expect you to change your mind, but your actual logic and examples strikes me as faulty.

  • Hey Dragonus! How good is Black Clover and compare it to my Hero Academia.

      Loading editor
    • It's a pretty typical shonen and uses a lot of the expected tropes, which annoys many readers, but it's not trying to reinvent the wheel, so I don't have a problem with it.

To me, the biggest flaw is the pacing. Because his previous work was axed for being too slow, Tabata wrote Black Clover with a very fast pace, much like MHA's. It has slowed in recent arcs, much later than when MHA let up on the gas.

Give it a go. Read through the second arc (dungeon) though before ultimately deciding whether or not to drop it. The first mission is unfortunately bad.

  • Magne was a man, he was an Okama that referred to himself as a woman. That doesn't mean he actually was one. Even so, there is no proof in chapter 149. All you have his Twice complaining.

If you want to pull stuff like this, you need to actually discuss it on the talkpage.

Whether you find it odd or not, it's a fact that they exist. And that tons of organizations acknowledge them. Heck, the manga acknowledges them with Tiger.

So it's better to just leave it be. It's just a character after all and if more info comes up, we change it if necessary.

We all have things to do, so let's not start this again.

  • Once again, I have to remind you to follow the Manual of Style's guidelines when formatting references. See My Hero Academia Law Book:Manual of Style#Source Referencing for more information.

If you are displeased with the current format, you're welcome to open up a thread on the forum to discuss this issue with the community and propose change. However, what you're currently doing, as well-intentioned as it might be, is deciding by yourself that your suggested format should be used, disregarding the fact that you're breaking the current formatting pattern that has been used in this wikia for a very long time.

If you still insist on violating wiki police, be aware that you might face a temporary block.

    • Huh? Is this about Bakugo's page? I didn't see anything in the rules saying the move section is supposed to have "used in Chapter XX." I'll revert it then.

        Loading editor
    • No, no need to revert these, you were on point with them. I mean the italic, again. You're free to propose change so that only the series title is italicized, but since it's a major wiki-wide change, you need to open up a discussion for that.

    • Okay

But that's a silly format. Italics denotes the series' title, and "Manga:" and "Anime:" aren't part of the title.

        Loading editor
    • Since you are willing to make minor changes to the format, could you change it so "Manga" and "Anime" aren't italicized?

        Loading editor
    • That's not really minor as having the : italicized or not, though. I'd say it'd be better to open a discussion in that case.

Either way, I wasn't the one who decided on this format, it was already used wiki-wide before I even started editing here. I just followed what was already used.
